rough drawings
I've been trying to develope a technique for storyboarding where I draw rough, but it's clean enough that I don't have to go back and clean it up. This is sort of how I've been drawing. It's really fun, and makes you a lot better at drawing, because you can't "find" the drawing in the clean up, you have to make really strong decisions from the beginning.

Roger
I plan on spending 30 weeks on model sheet studies. The first one I did was Obelix. The second one I did was Asterix. This week, I’ve been doing Roger. My goal has been to spend one week on each character. I’ve been keeping a little sketchbook as well as doing larger cleaned up drawings. After the 30 weeks, I want to move onto doing some rough animation test on some of the characters I liked the best.

breakdown
Wow, this makes drawing easier. It's really hard to force myself not to jump right into the detail, but this is taking so much of the struggle out of drawing. I normally would start with drawing 3, but then I'm working on construction, pose, anatomy, proportion, and line quality all at the same time. This way, I can worry 1st about the pose, then about the construction/anatomy, then about the line quality. If you can't tell, I'm a huge Ben Caldwell fan!
