Here is a really old character from a comic I never finished. If I could find a nice way to ink in photoshop, I would love to do another comic. Inking with a brush is murder on my wrist. Here is a cool photoshop brush.

New sketches

I've been drawing with a larger brush lately. it's a really nice way to simplify because the brush is too big to put any detail.

breakdown

Wow, this makes drawing easier. It's really hard to force myself not to jump right into the detail, but this is taking so much of the struggle out of drawing. I normally would start with drawing 3, but then I'm working on construction, pose, anatomy, proportion, and line quality all at the same time. This way, I can worry 1st about the pose, then about the construction/anatomy, then about the line quality. If you can't tell, I'm a huge Ben Caldwell fan!

Pirate

I've been trying to come up with a more methodical aproach to drawing. A way to take some of the frustration out of it. I'm trying to work from more simple shapes and then build up. If I can nail those initial shapes easily the rest of the drawing is much easier almost, dare I say it, enjoyable!
